Why is marching band not considered as an athletic activity, but it still gets P.E. credits in high school?

I believe it should be considered an athletic activity since marching bands take alot of hard work and physical effort.

Not all schools do. Where I grew up band was only an elective; it didn’t satisfy PE or any other requirement. In general schools give PE credit for band if they have trouble getting enough students take marching band.

yeah,my band almost died,2 years ago there was only 18 people in band,now theres is 40,next year its estimated to about 80 but idk about next year

because your only marching. your not running or really active like the mile run or basketball
