Libya is in a state of civil war. With NATO troops involved supporting the rebel side.
The Egyptians succeeded with chasing their president/dictator Hosni Mubarak out of the country. They now have a temporary government led by the Egyptian military leaders. The temporary government promised them democratic elections for next autumn. As far as I know, they are organizing/ forming parties/ having election campaigns right now.
Tunisia has also succeded in chasing off their president/dictator.
There are protests against the governments of several other countries in the region (Syria, Yemen, Jordan, Oman were mentioned in the news lately)
