I’m sorry to hear you have kidney stones. :-(

I’ve suffered with stones for 5 years now… since I was 14. Yes, kidney stones can greatly increase in size overnight even. Do you know what kind of stones you’re suffering with?? Cystine (which are really rare), and uric acid (caused from infection), are the ones that can increase in size within a short period of time. Calcium-based normally take a little longer, but can increase if the conditions are right.

Make sure you’re drinking lots and lots of water. At least a sip every 5 minutes, and be sure that you’re passing AT LEAST 2-3 litres of urine in a day. Squeeze half of a lemon, and drink the juice in the morning and at night.

If you haven’t already, have the doctors do a 24-hour urine collection on you. It’s gross, but they will probably be able to diagnose what kind of stones you’re suffering from.

And what tests have they done to assume you’re stone is growing?? I’ve had the doctors preform an ultra-sound on me… results come back that I had a couple kidney stones over 3cm in one kidney, and the other kidney had one stone that was 1cm. I requested a CT scan to properly size the stones… which turned out that all they were were clusters that measured 2-3mm each.

And diet-change always helps!! I drastically changed overnight, I went completely vegetarian (animal protein is a cause of kidney stones), and starting drinking straight, pure water (always keep hydrated!!)
