is being baptised the only way in to heaven

and who is the person most holy these days to do the job.

Answer #1

Only necessary if your a mormon and maybe some others but mormon is only one that comes to mind. But mormons also believe in baptism after death thats why they have a huge library in Nevada I think with pretty much everybodies geneology tracing back about a couple hundred years or so

Answer #2

Some denominations require it for entry into heaven, some don’t. It started as a pagan ritual, anyway.

Answer #3

yes, baptism IS a requirement. you should be baptized by someone who has the correct authority and holds the priesthood.

Answer #4

I always understood that “only” by “grace” can you get into Heaven.

In otherwords, your going to Heaven is a “gift” from God that cannot be earned by absolutely anything you do here on earth. You only have to believe in the Lord.

Answer #5

no, im not religious but being baptised isnt the way all you need to do is beleive in “god” in my opinion baptism is disgusting and unessessary

Answer #6

no being baptised can be optional yes but that certainly isn’t the only way to Heaven. as long as you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior that’s good enough for Him. the best person to go to for baptising would be a pastor/father or some religious figure

Answer #7

no, thats not the way to heaven. to go to heaven, you have to truly believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for YOUR sins, baptism is just a public profession that you believe. if you have any other questions, read the bible or msg me

Answer #8

I don’t think it is necessary.

Answer #9

*[“…Is being baptised the only way into heaven…and who is the person most holy these days to do the job?…”]

*To enter into heaven one must be sinless (I.e., righteous)…and no one is born righteous: “Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me” [Psalms 51:5]…”For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” [Romans 3:23].

A rabbi came to Jesus by night and asked the same question…and Jesus responded: “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God” [John 3:3]. That a person must be born again speaks of spiritual birth, but Nicodemus understood Jesus as referring to a physical rebirth. What could Jesus expect Nicodemus to know about the Kingdom? From the scriptures he would know that the Kingdom would be ruled by God, it would eventually be restored on earth and it would incorporate God’s people. Jesus revealed to this devout Pharisee that the Kingdom would come to the WHOLE WORLD [John 3:16], not just the Jews…and that Nicodemus wouldn’t be a part of it unless he was personally BORN AGAIN {John 3:5]. This was a revolutionary concept: The Kingdom is personal, not national or ethnic…and its entrance requires REPENTANCE and SPIRITUAL REBIRTH. Jesus later taught that God’s Kingdom has already begun in the hearts of believers [Luke 17:21]. It will be fully realized when Jesus returns again to judge the world and abolish evil forever [Revelations 21-22].

BOTTOM-LINE: For one to enter into heaven…he must be born a SECOND time (I.e., born-again)…”He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. But as many as received him (I.e., by faith and regenerated by the Spirit of God), to THEM gave he power (I.e., the right) to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, NOT of BLOOD, nor the will of the flesh (I.e., human effort), but of God (I.e., the regenerating Spirit of God).

Water baptism is an OUTWARD declaration of an INWARD faith…of one who has been redeemed (I.e., Born-again) by the Spirit of God. It does not save…it only declares that the person who is being baptised is a redeemed son of the living God through faith in Jesus Christ.

*[“…and who is the person most holy these days to do the job?”]

*Any born-again Christian can baptise a person who has accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour…for we (I.e., Christians) are priests: “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light “ [1 Peter 2:9].

Well… I have studied this a lot. According to the first fe hundred years of beliefs by the first christians understood teh need to be baptized. (read all of Acts 2 specifically vs 42-46) it as in Peter’s first centry church. With constantine’s belief in God and the council of Narcaea things began to change and the seperation of the world and the church became none existant. The church began to adopt the ways of the world to reach people, and measured success by the number of people coming out, or that were “memebers”. But the impact and life change of a christian was very rare. Infact overtime the church adopted many views that the first church would have considered to be a heretical beleif. such as ‘accepting jesus into your heart” there are scriptures on faith but I view it as a cake you must have all parts to make it valid… Faith… confession Jesus is lord, and the actual water baptism. Where in teh bible does it say just beleive… and when it does say have faith who is he talking to? you must beleive to get baptized, or else what woudl be the point? a key point is jesus was batized as christians we are supposed to immitate him and I do not beleive he would have done it if it were not important. I think that people want what their itching ears want to hear, and getting baptized is a life long commitment, you must ocunt the cost it is a dedication to christ, an analogy might be like a marriage, it is the marriage.

In response to the comment on the “salvation as a gift it is! if someone were to tell you I have 10,000 $ I want to give you but you have to drive over here to get it would you have earned that? would the drive mean that you deserved this money and void it as a gift? No! or if you are drowning in the water and someone throws you a rope, you hold on and tehy pull you in to shore or the boat, would you come out saying, “wow I worked so hard to get to shore, I did all the work?” No! it was the one to pull you to shore, you just had to hold on. Ithink god is like that. he says, you have to drive over, or just hold on. Get wet, participate in the death burial and resurection with jesus through baptism. Romans 6:3-5. there are many scriptures on baptism, Acy 8, also see pauls conversion… what was his response to the message? hat are everyone’s response to the word through out acts? It is about the first church.

This is how ever contrary to most curent “christian” beleifs, preaching and practice. but many will say Lord Lord and not make it to heaven (mathe 7:21), but he does want everyone to be saved.

This is a lot of info, I have many more scriptures etc… but it would be a million pages longer. post if you have any questions!
