Iran, A true threat?

Home More advice Politics & Law

I've been looking at topics about Iran.

Personally, I'm hung up on the Iraq War. But it ISN'T because of Iran. And people are constantly telling me that Iran would invade Iraq if we left early and that Iran would disrupt Middle East peace and prosperity.

1) I see no Middle East 'prosperity'. There are kids getting shot up in Israel, there are people breaking through walls to reach Egypt, and Iraq is in Civil War.

2) Iran would not dare invade Iraq for several key reasons: -The United States spent $583,283,000,000 in 2007 and Iran spent an estimated $6,300,000,000

-The U.N. would most likely intervene

-Iraq, while broken in unity, would put up some small fight of some kind until an allied force arrived, or until they were overrun.

-The European Union would impose sanctions on Iran

-Israel would enter a heightened state of awareness...(?)

As for reasons Iran would invade Iraq if we left, here are all I could think of.

1) Abundant oil reserves that can still be easily repaired.

2) Shia Islam is prevalent in Eastern Iraq, meaning they may sympathize with any foreign invader that is also Shia

3) Many local countries admire the Iranian leadership for acting boldly against the West (although some condemn it as well).

Someone tell me just what would happen. Without giving me a dumb, politically charged statement calling me some "liberal" or "socialist" or even "communist".

I assure you, I am not of any sort.
