When should I take a pregnancy test?

ok i am a 18 year old girl . me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex (that was two weeks ago) i was meant to get my periods this week and they havnt come i am freaking out and i dont know what to do .. how long do u have to wait to get a pregnancy test… please give me some advice

If you were already supposed to get your period and missed it, then you can take the test… lots of the new prgnancy tests you can even take it 5 days before your missed period. Make sure you take the test with your first urine sample in the morning (so its concentrated). Odds of having a false negative are much greater than a false positive, so if you get a positive result odds are that you are pregnant but you should go to the doctors to take a second test to make sure. But please don’t freak out just yet– there are lots of things that can cause you to miss a period: stress, eating habits, thinking that you are pregnant ( yes that CAN cause you to miss your period). Also, I don’t know if you were on birth control and forgot to take it or what but birth control causes the same symptoms as pregnancy (trust me i would know I’ve has a couple scares myself).
