I want blonde hair

I have brown hair.. but I want to try blonde. I want like a Avril Lavinge blonde or Brit Spears but I don’t want to bleach it because its so bad for hair. I dont have the money to go to a salon and I heard of people who tried to dye their hair blonde with just blonde die(as in not bleach) and their hair went green. I dont know what to do does anyone know?

Nearly a year ago, I dyed my hair from dark brown to platinum blond. I was very scared because I have dark eyes and eyebrows, but I have short hair and I wanted a funky change. I went to a my hairdressers who put it in foils for some time, and when it was dried and styled it looked great. It took about 3/4 times to get it bright, but it also looks awesome with roots. My hair is a bit dry because of all the bleaching, but good shampoo and conditioner helps (not tigi, tho it smells nice)Im wanting to go back to brown again, because the blond wasnt a perminant thing, but now im scared stiff! I’ve been brown for 17 years of my life, but now im scared to go back. I have really enjoyed being blond, and it has given me so much more confidence. I recomend anyone to do it, but if you have long dark hair and dark eyes, then perhaps go for dark blond with highlights.

In all honesty, bleaching it is not a required step. In the case of my hair (I used to have dark blonde hair and then dyed it dark brown) I used garnier fructis, about two to three shades lighter then the hair color I want, and, as horrible as it may look, waited one week and then dyed it again with the color I wanted. Make sure that if you have a lot of hair (my hair is thin, but I have a lot of it!) use two boxes for each dye job to make sure you get the color to every part of your hair. After you’ve dyed it both times, don’t forget a hair cut! It’ll get rid of all those broken ends and make your color look even better!

Yeah - and like I said previously, removing of the dark color is emptying of the hair to leave hollow tubes of the hairs which are, needless to say, therefore dead! Yeah, us brunettes are pretty much screwed when it comes to hair color change. So, love your brown hair and nevermind Lavigne, she’s not really blonde either! :)

Answer #5

Do not bleach it babe i have just done that and its completly dried my hair out and made it go fluffy

Answer #6

haha so I take it my hair would look funny if I didnt bleach it before dying it. alright then thanks!

Answer #7

Hate to break it to you but if you have dark hair, your only option is to remove the dark color first (i.e. bleach) and then use dye…….Brown hair is beautiful, maybe try some highlights to lighten it up!

Hope this helps

I have naturally blonde hair and dyed it “almost-black” brown. but I missed it after a while, so I bleached it and(I have thick curly hair) it didn’t do a thing to it except for what I wanted it 2 do. so bleach it, my hair is stll as soft and healthy as ever! :)

Answer #11

mostly I would lighten my black/dark brown hair for a month with Dandruff shampoo,Vinegar and Vitamin C all mixed together then ill wait for about 1 hour then ill shampoo and put some leave-in conditioner. then after a month of doing that your hair will get lighter and you can dye your hair 4 shades lighter then your natural hair. I hope this helped
