How to get put into a foster home or group home

Ok my mom is a pot head my step dad does crack and coke how can I get put into a foster home or a group home until im 18 im 17 now and ill be 18 in jan.

Check and see if your state has a children’s welfare service. It probably does, and they should be able to assist you. If you’re still in school, check with a counselor.   Also, for your future reference:

call the cops and the child resources people and let them know that your parents are doin that stuff and you dont want to be around it and you want to leave even if it has to be you going into a foster care or whatever

If you called the police wouldnt they come around and find the illegal drugs everywhere and put you in a safe house?

If you are still in school tell a counselor. Go live with a freind or relative. Call social services, In texas 17 is an adult you can work and get your own place but I dont know about the laws in your area

If you don’t want to go home, then the cops won’t make you go home, I’ve been in that situation. they will have your parents decide if you can live with a friend or relative, or they will put you in a foster home. Either way it would be better than living there with your mom and dad. I refused to go home, and they said that if I didn’t want to go then they couldn’t legally make me, so after a week or so my mom finally let me move in with one of my relatives.

If you are in an unsafe environment you need to go talk to a counselor at school about it.
