How long between bleachings?

I bleached my very dark brown hair friday night and, just as expected its an orange/yellow color with bright yellow roots up top. How long should I wait before bleaching again to cover up this ugly mess?

My friend bleached her hair twice straight from black and it went orangey yellow. She left it for 2/3 weeks because she liked the colour. And then she bleached it again. It went lighter. But she still didn’t have the desired blonde result. So I coloured her hair with a normal blonde dye and her roots turned silver. She bought a mid-brown and her hair turned out golden toffee/mousey blonde. (Like the colour of a golden retriever). And yesterday she dyed it again - bleach, I think - and it has gone normal blonde.

She dyed her hair twice in one day, and one after the other for about 4 days. And her hair hasn’t fallen out yet. But everyone’s different. Her hair is probably really dead now, and VERY dry and brittle.

Most hairdressers don’t suggest home bleaching kits because it kills the hair. They suggest you get lots of blonde highlights first to get a feel of how blonde will suit you.

Anyway, back to your question, I’d wait at least a week. But if you need to do it asap, condition your hair loads before and do it the next day.

usually you’re supposed to wait AT LEAST a week. but if you truly need to I would say do a deep conditioning treatment tonight, and bleach it again tomorrow. they say you need about 4 home bleach treatments to achieve that very light, pale yellow that I’m assuming you want.

I have been bleaching my hair Barbie blonde for about 20 years now and I’ve dyed it almost every color there is - and then back to blonde. I’ve made every mistake there is to make and have now got it down to an exact science and have been able to go blonde anytime I want with no problems or breakage. & I’m so glad I’ve finally got it right that I want to share my knowledge with all who wants it!

Bleaching hair from dark to light takes a while - it seems the toner/color was added to your hair too soon - and probably the wrong color - if you really want a really nice blonde hair color go ahead and email me and include a picture of your hair as it is now and one of where you want it to be - I can help you get it the right color without it breaking or looking bad and probably for under 15 bucks in supplies
