How do I use my ipod shuffle without itunes?

I have gotten a second hand ipod shuffle (2nd generation) which is actually quite new. But if I needed a disk or something to install it on my computer, I didnt get it. When autoplay pops up I click on open files and copy music onto it, then when I try to play it nothing happens? I dont have itunes and would rather not have it but fair enough if I really have to :p x

You will need itunes to use it. You don’t necessarily have to download music through their store (Amazon and several other sites are cheaper), but you do need itunes to be able to put music onto the ipod and to make playlists etc. Sorry x

Its not possible to copy songs in ipod without itunes.
