How do I get my parents to move me back?

My family moved to another city and this city is in the country and I moved from the city and I’ve’e been living there since I was born and I want to move back so much! I hate the new school I go to and I miss my friends how can I convince my parents for at least an apartment so me and my dad could live in?

Unfortunately for you, there are about 3,000 other priorities when it comes to choosing a place to live that come before ‘’My daughter liked her old school better.’’ Availability of employment, cost of living, property taxes, proximity to social network, availability of entertainment/activities, all these things and so many more are factored into a decision to move. Moving (especially moving an entire family is one of the single most stressful events a person can go through, so your parents did not enter into this decision lightly.

Chances are, you’re not reacting to the school or the people in it specifically but more to the fact that you are being forced to adjust to something new. You’re absolutely right in suggesting that staying in one place and knowing the same people your entire life is very familiar and comforting and easy, which is why most people never move out of their home towns. Never forcing yourself to experience anything new is also a really good way to let yourself stagnate.

What is it about the school you don’t like? Are the classroom sizes too large? Are the teachers not challenging? Are the facilities substandard? Are the meals not varied? If your answer to the question is ‘’The people suck’’ or ‘’I just hate it here,’’ then you’re reacting to the newness of the situation, not the school itself, which means you haven’t yet given it enough of a chance.

Once you stop fighting change and work to see what you can get out of the change, you’ll find things stop being so terrible very quickly.
