How can I prove to my mom she is wrong?

Back to who cares if she thinks she is always right. She’s your mother. All mother’s think they’re right. If not admitting it makes her feel better, then what difference does it make. Seriously, be the mature one here and let it go.

If she’s wrong then she’s wrong. Allah means God in Arabic it’s from the Islam faith so I don’t know why she thinks it’s a bad thing Islam and Christianity are very close in religion and they both branch off of Judaism. So tell your mom she has nothing to worry about because in the end the meaning of your name is talking about the same God. Just let her believe that your name is African and let it go.

Why do you need her to accept that she is wrong. Just leave it. You’re just going to cause a fight between you and your mother. Sometime which can easily be avoided.

If by now she still doesn’t believe that your name has no connection to African decent then why bother trying, let her stick to your beliefs and you to your own. I know my answer doesn’t help much but I think that its best to leave it like it is for the sake of a mother daughter relationship.

Who cares? First of all, Allah is simply the arabic word for God, so what difference does it make that it says that? In other words it just means May God give you guidance and make your children pious. As for coming from Africa, what does that even mean. Africa has a lot of languages. Swahilli is a mixture of Arabic and Bantu. A lot of North Africa has a mixture of Arabic with it. Bottom line, she wants to believe the name she picked comes from Africa. What possible difference does it make to you whether she believes that or not? Is it hurting you in some way? Seriously, you dont have to be right simply for the sake of being right. It is ok to just let her have her denial.

I understand what you guys are saying. she always thinks she’s right and I’m very good at proving people wrong. she says I should be a lawyer but still won’t accept the fact that she is wrong : - )

keep looking. sometimes a search for an hour to get the info I need. christians & muslims believe in the same god. its not like muslims are bad
