How can I help an 11 year old child read?
Teaching your child reading and writing is no simple task. Well teaching your child anything is no simple task, especially reading.
Starting out small and creating a plan of action is going to be what really works. This includes just starting with small improvements, like learning the alphabets, understanding the direction of reading, and sounding out letters is a great place to start.
Of course though, getting started is the hardest part. Also, I'm applying three great tips from ... on early reading. It get's a lot more IN DEPTH.
Sit down with your child and help sound out the words and sentences one at a time and if that doesnt workk then you should consider a reading program.
