How can I become a star in a film, can someone give me advice?

You’ve probably already done most of these things, but to recap, here’s how it usually works:

1. Study theater, acting and film as you work to get your theater degree. Gain a perspective on the various classic acting techniques so that you can develop a method that works for you. Study the techniques of various actors in various genres of film. Develop an appreciation for the production of filmmaking and gain exposure to all aspects of the business.

2. With your meager resume and your degree, begin auditioning for small roles in commercials, as a film extra, and in small theater productions. You’ll want to take on some work waiting tables to tide yourself over. Gain credits for your resume and clips for your reel. Once you have a substantial portfolio, seek representation. Get ripped off. Seek more reputable representation.

3. Begin going on hundreds of film auditions with 300 other people who look exactly like you. Get rejected 299 times. Earn a speaking role in a Lifetime television movie about an old sitcom mom whose husband is a bastard. Go back to school and get a business degree, having at last fulfilled your dream!
