Why does the heater make me sick?

is it me or when my parnets turn on the heater my nose gets stuffy and my throt hurts like i have something stuck there ??

idk what it is grr.. can some one explain this to me ??

The same thing happens to me sometimes. I’m pretty sure it’s because when the heater s turned on there is less moisture in the air so it becomes hard to breathe (especially if you live somewhere where there’s a lot of moisture in the air and therefore you’re used to it). Sadly, I don’t believe there’s many things you can do to fix this. You can try getting a humidifier or something in your room so at least in there you can have some relief. There are cons to having a humidifier (one of the main problems I had with mine is that it made my room even colder…). And you can always take a hot shower so the steam can provide you with some relief…

Might be from allergies. Dust particals trapped in there when it is off and blowing out when it’s turned on which will aggravate your sinuses.

these are the gasses released by the heater which make you uncomfortable. if you place a tub of water in front of the heater. it will absorb all the gasses and will not feel you unpleasant. try it
