I have never had a piriod and think I will soon but what are some of the signs?
First, I recommend speaking with your parents on this (or if that's not acceptable, perhaps a school nurse or other doctor of some form), however I will provide what insight I can.
When you start your period, it's because your sexual organs are beginning to prepare themselves for the ability to hold a child within. That said, the most obvious sign of your period is the bleeding that will occur. It is normal to bleed for anywhere between 3 or 4 days to upwards of a week. During this time (and sometimes leading up to it,) you may experience bloating, cramps and potentially more urine and stool output than normal.
If your body has begun to develop, in the sense that you are developing more curvy features or pubic hair, then if you haven't already started your first period, you likely will soon. The growth of your "chest" area (yes, I am being nice with my wording,) will signify the onset of hormones that will begin this process, as will some of the other signs I have mentioned.
Do not be alarmed, as this process is entirely natural. If you experience periods lasting in excess of 2 or more weeks, you may wish to seek a doctor to make sure you are not bleeding for one of myriad other various reasons. Finally, I suggest you get a feminine check-up appointment with your doctor soon, and they will check you out to let you know how you are doing health-wise in that way. Your doctor should be a great person to ask questions of regarding this topic, and should be well equipped to answer whatever topics you may want to inquire about regarding this.
