how can i fix my laptop keyboard?

My dog was resting his head on my laptop, and after I moved it, I went to type in Google. If I type for example ‘a’ it will give me ‘aaaaaaa’ same with anything else I type. How can I fix this?

Most likely dog spit has dribbled into the keys, causing them to stick after being depressed - thus activating the “auto-repeat” as though you were deliberately holding the key down.

You may be able to use a small, fine-hair (e.g. “sable”) paint brush dipped in methylated spirits to clean around the sticky keys. The meths. will evaporate quite quickly - hopefully freeing up the affected keys. Rapid repeat tapping of the affected keys, while the meths is drying, may help to clear any gummy residue.

If this does not work, you will need to open up the laptop to clean the keyboard more thoroughly (or take it to a computer servicing technician to get it done professionally).

Alternatively - get a USB, or wireless, keyboard and use that instead.
