do I tell my family?

I have an odd family..rough divorce a stepmom and too many siblings with way too much drama so they don’t really notice anything-im a pretty good kid regardless though.anyways so when I was 14 I started cutting and I never got caught by anyone till after I grew out of it which was when I was 16.at 17 I started smoking cigerettes and did some coke-never got addicted though and soon quit.I’m 20 now and my siblings now about all that now but I still get the urge to cut.and I’ve had slip ups and have given in to it but I don’t want to.its like nothing else makes me feel better..I really can’t help it.and trust me I’ve tried to find an altrenative.so do I tell them?and any suggestions for coping?

I used to have the same problem but I got caught when they were really bad.. I was stupid.. just talk to your family about it calmly, and maybe see a therapist if it works for you. they dont work for me so I just tried not to let everything in my family bug me so much.. just get away whenever you wanna cut and get rid of anything you cut with.

I know how you feel about a disfunctional family but not about cutting. You should definitaly talk to your family or if you have a family member that you close to. They love you no matter what and they would want you to talk to them. I’m 20 also I’ve been through a lot to I lost my first love from overdose and I lost my dad a week before my sweet sixteenth birthday for drugs and depressing. So I know that your going through a lot but there are other way to go about it if you go to church talk to your pastor they are always there for you. And you don’t have Amy one to talk to you I’ll be glad to talk to you! I know you don’t know me but I am a great listener and we have a lot in common! Email me hgchik216@yahoo.com
