Design on crochet

I am making my teacher a blanket for her baby (a surprise for when its born), and its white. I started before she knew if it was a boy or a girl, and I made it white so it could go either way. Now I know its going to be a boy and I wanted to put his name on it but I dont know how. I want it to be personalized but I need help. Its crocheted

After the fact, I’m not sure it’s possible, unless you cut out his name in fabric and crocheted it on the blanket. Kind of like a quilt.

Although it wouldn’t be crocheted into the blanket, you could embroider the baby’s name on the finished blanket. Use a large needle and at least a double thickness of yarn so it would show; perhaps in chainstitch?
