It's fun to chew. If you have a sore throat, the saliva generated helps to sooth it. If you have a bad habit (e.g. - smoking or chewing tobacco), chewing gum can be a healthy alternative. Gum can help remove food particles stuck in your teeth (although sugared gum also can promote cavities). One kind of gum (Aspergum®) helps with sore throats and even headaches because it contains aspirin - but most don't like the taste.
It's not unhealthy, in most cases it whitens your teeth and there are 3-5 calories per piece so compared to how many calories you burn chewing the gum (11 per hour) it really doesn't make a difference.
Well some people think it's gross, it can become a habit, it melts when you drink hot things/becomes really sticky, it's annoying to some people...
i meant health-wise. like how much calories you consume, how unhealthy it is, what it does to your teeth, ect?
It may lead to a zombie apocalypse. Just kidding.
All the sugar in the gum
