What do you thing of the no child left behind in schools?

Answer #1

I don’t like it at all. Kids who are failing, and need to stay behind a grade are getting passed when they are not ready. My twin cousins are on a first grade level, yet they keep passing them and they are in middle school now. They don’t need to be in middle school, because they don’t know how to do the work and get along with kids who are way more mature than they are. Now, the teachers are threatening to send them to an alternative school for “bad kids”. They expect them to act like the other middle school kids, but they can’t. It’s ridiculous.

Answer #2

I don’t like the idea of how teachers are teaching their students to test for it- meaning that they are pushing them to study the kind of stuff that will be on the test, not allowing them to develop a broader knowledge. Plus, there hasn’t really been much funding for the program as there should have been.

Answer #3

Teachers should be working harder to help the children understand not making the children work harder to understand. Every child learns at their own pace and in their own ways.

Answer #4

i think in theory it sounds amazing, but it doesn’t turn out so great :/

Answer #5

Answer #6

Yet another attempt by non-educators to fix education.

I already voiced my views here:

Answer #7

I don’t think much of it. In the real world if you fail then there is no one who is going to put you through with whatever it is and you’ll have to deal with the consequences. It’s just making society dumber and dumber and also teaching them that you don’t necessarily have to work to get anywhere, which isn’t true at all.

Answer #8

lol ikr!it’s kind of ironic!

Answer #9

I was in one too, and the one I am speaking of IS for “bad kids”. Everyday, kids would come in high, or with dr.ugs on them. Fights would happen constantly. Weapons were brought to school daily. It is NOT a place for my 12 year old cousins who are on a 1st grade level. I didn’t say all alternative schools were for the bad kids.

Answer #10

we have that in canada as well, and honestly it isnt working very well….grade school they pass every one but the teachers often ignore the no child left behind thing and they wont help students…in highschool there are extra help teachers, credit recovery courses and you can fail classes, and the teachers help a bit more than in gradeschool
