What do you think of a chess park in NY that will only let adults in the park with children, if you are not in the park with your kid, you will get fined?

Answer #1

I think its a good idea only because of the the people who go in parks and prey on children

Answer #2

If it’s a park for children, then the rules are the rules. It’s probably just a safety precaution, which the world could use a little more of.

Answer #3

Isn’t the purpose to deter pe.dophiles? It’s pretty bold to assume that all adults in a kid-friendly park are cruising for children, but I guess they’re just trying to keep kids safe and ease the minds of the parents. It kind of sucks for adults who may live nearby and just want to go for a walk in the park but can’t because they don’t have children. I guess I can see both sides.

Answer #4

That’s ridiculous. What has the world come to that adults aren’t allowed to take a walk in the park without the assumption that they are ped0philes?

Answer #5

I dont see the harm in it. Its most likely for a safety concern and if we have places that are “adult only” where you cant bring children, i dont see why its a big deal to have places where you have to have children in order to go. Yes, it sucks for the people who live near by and dont have kids and would like to use the park, however most cities have more than one park or recreation center and they have every right to go to another one. I think its a good idea. It will help keep the creeps, ped.o.philes, unruly teenagers, and trouble makers out of the park and make it more of a family environment. Nothing wrong with that in my eyes. I know ive taken my son to our local park and have left because of men making me feel uneasy before or because of teens being there causing trouble.

Answer #6

How about the retired, or older people that don’t have children, that just like to go to the park. I think parents need to watch their kids, same with small children in stores that let them run all over the place while they shop.

Answer #7

It is a public chess park.

Answer #8

You are totally right, and I don’t go to the park, but if I did I would not want a cop to fine me because they think I am a dirty old man cruising for kids. I watch my kids and I think it is the parents that should protect their kids.

Answer #9

People who prey on children can be any age, that includes the retired and elderly, just because thr old or even disabled doesn’t mean they don’t prey on children, and secondly isn’t that is what the park is for, for kids to run around and be free and not haveing to worry about someone lrking in the bushes? Now the kids runnin a muke in the store I don’t agree with, the kids shud remain with thr parent while shopping

Answer #10

Yes and they can be anywhere, I guess on this issue we will have to agree to disagree. I do not feel this is right, but maybe I am just weird.

Answer #11

Ur not weird I’m sure a lot of people feel the way u do, its ok eveyone is intitled to thr opinion, I’m fine with that and mind to agree to disagree, that’s y everyone has thr own mind, to say wat they think :-)

Answer #12

Here’s the deal. The overwhelming majority of children (and we’re talking like more than 90%) are sexually assaulted by someone they know. It’s a ridiculous law trying to appease parents who are delusional enough to think that as long as their kids are not around strangers they are safe. It’s a political show that does nothing in reality to deter pedo.philes.

Answer #13

I think that is ridiculous! Getting a fine because you dont have a child with you! OMG, thats creepy and i bet there is video survaliance too? you dont know who is looking at you!.. and another reason why i think america is becoming a hellhole. lol. :)
