Can you put a password lock on text messages on the iPHONE?

Is there anyway? I hate when people read my texts.

It puts a lock over the whole phone so no one can access it without the code, but what you do is go to settings on the main screen then go to General there should be a list of options to choose from then you’ll go to passcode lock and enter a the code you want! Hopefully this helps!

I think evryone know that. I think the person meant just to put a password on the messages because I dont mind friends going few my iphone and playing on it but I just dont want them to read my messages. the question is; is there any apps that can put a password on messages?
