Take a deep breath, think about what you want to do with your life. Fry burgers at a fast food restaurant? Wash cars? Empty trash cans? Carry bags for old ladies at wall mart? Probably not.

So where do gou want to go? What do you want to achieve? Make a decision. And then go for it. That’s how you do it.

Judging by your recent questions, you sound depressed. Like I suggested with the motivation problems, set some goals and don’t stop ‘til you achive them. One of those goals could be going back to school. I went through the same thing when I was in grade 10, you just need to think about the positives. I was so depressed I hardly got out of bed every day, not even to eat! But I thought about my friends at school and what I want to do when I leave school and decided to go back. Take small steps every day and don’t give up on yourself. Whatever’s bothering you, you shouldn’t let it get in the way of your future.

If you aren’t motivated, then truth is you will probably never be. I suggest you look around for any courses starting soon that you are interested in, it’s better to be doing something even if you don’t love it, then to be wasting away doing nothing all day. It’s hard to motivate yourself when you aren’t motivated and can’t see the long term picture of things. If you get what I mean. I hated school, so I left at 15/16, I did hairdressing and was a hairdresser for a while just because it was something to do. At the time I wasn’t 100% sure on what I wanted to be but I knew I had to do something, no trade is wasted, I know now that I’ll always have that skill to fall back on. I want to be a cop but have to wait to have laser eye surgery and have to be 20 ish years old so right now I’m going to do an art course at college, simply because I enjoy art and would like to meet new people and move away from home. What I’m trying to say here, is that you don’t have to do one thing and be committed to it forever. Don’t float around doing heaps of courses/papers not knowing what you’re doing because that can turn into a waste of time. But remember that even if the first job/course you try isn’t something you love, there’s always time to try other things. Apparently the average person changes careers every 10-15 years anyway, so you probably won’t be stuck in one job forever anyway. Think of something you wouldn’t mind doing, take a course in it, then work in that industry while you ‘find yourself’ and when you feel like you’re ready to try something new, do it. But please don’t just sit around doing nothing.
