God tells us in His Word, the Bible - His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts - in other words, far beyond our capabilities to understand - many things we will not know/understand until we are in His presence - God has always been, is, and always will be - more information is on my profile page - many of the things we place as most important in our lives--love, joy, happiness, forgiveness, friendship, and beauty--are essentially impossible to prove; however, that makes them no less real. I cannot look at a friendship under a microscope or place it on scales to measure its value in my life. I can ponder it, feel thankfulness for it, strengthen it, and treasure it. The same is true with my relationship with the Lord...hope this helps !!

God was created by ancient men, who saw the sun, moon, and stars, and anthropomorphized them. ...in a nutshell.

amblessed's argument is circular. God is the ultimate authority because He tells us He is, and therefore he must be. His origins are inscrutable, because He says they are. And so on.

As far as the old saw of 'proving God' vs 'proving love' goes - we're not talking about proving abstract concepts, we're talking about proving the existence of concrete things. We can prove that humans experience the emotions we call 'love' and 'happiness' - just because you can't see or touch them doesn't mean you can't prove or disprove their existence.

In general God did not come from anything, but rather everything came from him? This includes time also. Before time began, God was. Does this help?

It's impossible for there to be a 'before time'. That's meaningless word salad.

this is fairly speculative, but I believe God was once a mortal human being like you or me, and He progressed and grew until he became the God that we know and love today. it's a tough question, because there isn't much info on the matter in the bible, and the information that we DO have deals with eternity. the human mind struggles with the concept of eternity because everything we know has a beginning and an end. best of luck in your quest of knowledge, my friend. may I recommend studying the scriptures and praying to God for an answer...if you truly wish to know.

'IF ANCIENT MEN CREATED GOD, WHO CREATED ANCIENT MEN??'

Ancient men did not 'create' god, they created the concept of god. Ancient men were not created, they were born through the reproductive process, as did their ancestors all the way back to a single cell.

Simply a Rose to brighten your day,
        And maybe lessen the cares in your way;
And also, too, to help you to know,
That in knowing you, many others grow!

God exists outside of the universe and therefore outside of time and before time. Time and space are constructs of the universe.

God is not a he or she. God is just a creative/causative force that allowed/caused the Big Bang which started the expansion of the universe and the beginning of time.

I'm a Deist.

Deist

One who believes in the existence of a God, but denies revealed religion; a freethinker.

de·ism (de'iz'?m, da'-)
n.

The belief, based solely on reason, in a God who created the universe and then abandoned it, assuming no control over life, exerting no influence on natural phenomena, and giving no supernatural revelation.

wth amblessed?
how was that suppose to help?

In the Christian view
Some will tell you he made himself, some say that all wil reviel in do time

Me, I really don't believe in god though I do believe in a higher power & I believe they were created with time & space, however that may of been created, supposedly time & space always existed,
maybe with this universe then
perahaps they were made on a different plane & is more powerful than us & is able to do things & suc
maybe Gods are power spirits that never moved on dwell in earth & such
a matter of energy of some type
never know

God has existed forever and always will be. He did not come from someone or something. He has already existed.

Fabulous question!!! Also a real interesting one for a christian to try and answer, and I would encourage christians trying to answer this to not engage it with biblical reasoning not becauess it is neccesarily wrong, but because it is very circular. First of this question does not have and answer that will very scientific. Just like the origions of evolution does not have a very scientific or satisfactory response. Where did the materials arive for the big bang ect... I think that the key to answering this question is to understand that some things in this univers are unexplainable. An example would be, where on earth did the law of gravity come from. Who wrote it? What about the laws of theromdynamics. Why is it like that? Of cource we can explain the how of the law and the processes and consequences of the laws, but we can never explain why the laws are there in the first place. We can say well this is what our universe is like, and these law are here because of a particular function that is essiential for life and therefore that is why there are laws of nature, but this is just circular reasoning because you still havn't shown me why gravity has always existed and why that is. Gravity is not something that evolved. It always was with no good reason for it. So in the same sence of gravity and other abstract universal laws, God has no origions with no good scientific reason for it. Some things surpass human scientific understanding, things such as the universal understanding of love, the laws of nature and the laws of logic. No one can rationaly give a scientific account for those things and likewise no one can give a good scientific reason for God having no start. I cannot prove to you scientificly that God has always existed, but likewise you cannot scientificly prove that God is a liar when he claims this of himself. This simply surpasses science. I hope you find what you are looking for!

Light is infinite NOW. We observe time as linear because it is to us. If the universe we inhabit is a result of a certain frequency all energy is in sync with as it resonates... and light is a result of that energy freeing itself from the constraints of time therein, then what could be said of that vibrating to an alltogether different frequency? I have no clue. All we can have is our beliefs. It is hard to imagine any reality without cause and effect... but that doesnt mean it should be dismissed outright. Reality has happened once... that we know for a fact. What were the odds?... When it is all you see, that is hard to answer. I have no idea how anyone can settle their mind on this. Greater minds than mine... minor accomplishment though it may be.

I always picture it like...God was the only one around and was getting lonely and bored so He decided to make something...so He made the planets and such...then after awhile He got bored with that so He made some animals here on earth...and who knows maybe on other planets or galaxies out there...Hey, He's God, He can do what he wants...The animals did not really look like Him...So He got bored with that...Then He created man after His own image...So now He is not bored...Just busy with a really big miss all because of the beautiful angel that gaurded the Garden of Eden decided that he was so beautiful that he should be God...Oh, by the way God created him too...The angels were made to help man...but this one decided to go against God a turn into a snake and cause Adam and Eve to eat what they were not suppose to eat...So God cast the bad angel down and we know him as satan...So God is too busy to be bored now cause He has to battle satan (the one that thinks he should be God)...But God will always be more powerful cause He created satan to begin with...So who's side are you on???
