Overwatering a rubber tree plant usually invites molds or fungus that come up through the roots. Check the stalk of the plant to see if it is "squishy". If it feels okay, then buy some Oxygen Plus plant food so this doesn't happen when you water it again and get it more air circulation and sunlight.

Did I overwater my rubber tree plant?
Send me Fun Mail
We've had a potted rubber tree plant for 8 months now. About three months ago the leaves were turning yellow and falling off. They are now all off and the stems of the rubber plant tree are brown. We have moved the plant into more direct sunlight and have watered it less. One of the stems did turn green toward the top, but has now turn brown again. Should we throw it out or will it come back again? I fear I have watered it too much. Should I stop watering it completely?
