Pick an area in the yard for your dog to use.
Take your dog to the same place every time. It will smell it's own scent this way.
Be patient. If your dog is interested in just laying down in the yard, it may not be the best time to take him out.
Give praise when they do their 'business' so they will know that it is a good thing.
Try to come up with an uncommon word that is NOT used in conversation to say repeatedly outside, which will be the command for going to the bathroom. Once your dog becomes accustomed to it, you will have to say it less and less each time, to where you say it once and it is done.
Remember to have fun with your dog!
Be sure to pay attention to your dog usually it has a sign like pacing that will help you know when it needs to go out.
Let your dog out every 2 to 3 hours to get it in a routine.
Don't say anything when it potty's in the house because it wants your attention its saying to itself oh when I potty in here I get some attention but be sure to praise it when it goes outside because it will think oh when I potty our here I get attention and when I potty in there I don't
Tips:
Give him praise and reward when he goes potty outside.
This will take time, Patience is a virtue!
Never EVER hit an animal. They will not understand why and they will become fearful of you. Be sure to pick up after your dog because in some places there are laws about it
Keep it on a leash so it doesn't run off
Good luck !!
Not every dog trains in the same amount of time...Hubby will just have to keep letting her out...I can tell ya that if housetraining was up to my husband, it wouldn't happen...he can let them out fine, but doesn't get it about WATCHING THEM EVERY MINUTE THEY ARE NOT CRATED!!!
It's pointless to spank a puppy during housebreaking...they don't really know what it is that you're mad about...but they do read your body language, and know you are upset about something...don't mistake that for guilt. Crating her as a punishment will end up with not wanting to go to her crate. Use the crate, when she cannot be watched...but let that crate also be her little home...
I think that all that's going on here, is a lack vigilence...ya gotta watch them and get them out BEFORE they pee...and when she goes out, you go out with her...encourage her by saying go peepee...go peepee...then make a BIG deal when she finally goes. But ya gotta BE THERE. It will soon get that she'll go on command...really!!
Housetraining is the most intensive training there is for the owner...it takes CONSTANT vigilence...once done, tho...it's a forever thing.

Need help potty training my 3 month old boxer sierra
We let sierra out first thing in the morning, she does her business comes in and gets a treat. she wakes up from her nap, she goes out and gets a treat. when shes up playing we let her out. we let her out about every 15 minutes and she still comes in...
and potties in the house. the vet even checked her. we have thought about spanking for accidents in the house. Or putting her in her crate for a while after an accident. what are we doing wrong? my husband is home with her all day and is very tired of continually letting her out and then having her come in and have accidents. we love her very much, we all need to be happy. help us help her.
