How can I get my dog to stop chewing everything?

I've done everthing I can think of to stop him from chewing up everything,how do I stop him?

If it is a puppy, you need to transfer the chewing habit onto toys or items that the dog knows belongs to it. The bitter sprays don't work all that well with all dogs. Cayenne pepper in small doses sprinkled over chewed areas does seem to work well, but you need to reinforce the behavior to chew onto something acceptable. Praise for chewing the right thing works well, and treat training for doing so might help.
