How can i get my dog to stop chewing stuff?

What is the best way to get my dog to stop chewing up underwear, without spending tons of money on obedience school?

My little dog used to eat my underwear when I was a slob and used to throw my clothes around. Then I realized that leaving dirty underwear lying anywhere but in a covered hamper was irresponsible and unsanitary. So I bought a covered hamper and got into cleaner habits. Now, if I do leave something lying around, the dog barely looks at it.

also if it is chewing something of yours.. take it away and give it something it can chew as a toy or a bone... dont spank it or anything that just makes the dog agressive and it will be scared of you and that wont be good when it gets older..

you should get her a chew toy and if that don`t work then keep your door shut whill you are not in the room

Well for one Don't leave your stuff laging around. If you catch it doing that smack it's nose.

To Ivanna...you should never smack a dog on it's nose. It's mean and it doesn't work! If you catch your dog in the act, simply sternly say NO and replace the inappropriate item with something he is allowed to chew. It may take your dog several times to catch on, but he eventually will and will love you much more for not smakcing his nose :-)

My dog is chewing anything ... paper, shoes etc. This is only happening when we are not around. He sleeps when we are at home... Any ideas??
