Is my 8 month old chihuahua pregnant?

my noodle was supposed to get spayed then she went into heat about 3 weeks ago and I think she might be pregnant we had a 6 mo old shepherd mix and im scared they might of hooked up. im hoping he was too young or too big for her but now she looks like shes putting on weight and shes only 5 pounds I know if shes pregnant with his puppies it'll kill her. but we had to put him down last week because we took him to the vet an he had to worst case of hip dysplasia they had seen in a puppy that young:'( it would of been a 4000 dollar surgery so after paying 330 dollars for xrays we had to pay another 120 for him to be euthanized. so we dont have a penny to get her spayed now. does anyone have any ways to tell if she might be pregnant?'

I'm going to say...probably NOT PG...The pup may or may not have been fertile...but his total inexperence at the actual 'act' of mating, would probably have been a huge deterrent in mating with a dog so small...this wouldn't necessarily be so with an experienced male...tho the damage to the vaginal area of the female would be hard to miss...there is such a thing a 'doggie rape'...

I have a question that is almost the same as the other. I have a female that is 10 months old and around one month pregnant. They are both Chihuahuas, but I am concerned because of her age. What could the complications be from being so young?

I would take her to the vet just in case she might be pregnant. you might also want to check on her stomach to see if she is starting to develop for milk.

BE VERY CAREFUL BECAUSE CHIHAUHUA'S HAVING PUPPYS IS A PAT TIME JOB. MANY CHIHUAHUA'S WHO BECOME PREGNANT LOOSE THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE SO SMALL ITS HARD TO CARRY THEM. I AM A VET TECH AND THE MOST A CHIHUAHUA CAN HAVE IS 3. ONE CHI CAME IN GIVING BIRTH WITH 4 CHI'S AND ONE DIED AND ANOTHER ALMOST DID NOT SURVIVE. MANY CHI'S END UP NEEDING A CSECTION WHICH CAN BECOME VERY EXPENSIVE. BEST TIME TO HAVE PUPPIES IS AFTER A YEAR BUT AGAIN JUST BE VERY CAREFUL AND MAKE SURE YOU AHVE A GOOD VET IN HANDY.
