How do I get rid of a rat by myself?

I have a slight problem...
I have a rat
But I dont know what to do about it!
My brother plays on my playstation in my room and puts all his rubbish under my bed, but if I tell my mam, she will blame it on me!
So how can I get rid of a rat, without spending a lot of money or getting a profession which would mean telling my parents?
Also, I think it bit me the other day,I felt really sick and my head hurt a lot and then I found a red mark on my finger! Please help me!!!

well, I think its a rat... I hope its a rat an not a blood drinkin monster!!!

at nite try fresh coke a cola in a bowl if it drinks it will die but you my have to look for it. are use a rat trap with some penutbutter.
