well it depends on how you define love, but sure, why not?
dogs have rescued their owners from all sorts of dangers (fires, drowing, other animal attacks) even putting themselves at risk or dying for their efforts... and if that isnt love...

Like fall in love? Romantically? Nope, I don't think so.

I think some dogs will love anyone that gives them attention though...

I think of it as devotion.
dogs are pack animals and they protect and save their own. most dogs behave towards their owners in that way.

I think they can be VERY attached to a human...and attached to their human pack members...I don't think dogs feel emotion in the same way as we do, tho...When you look at the instincts that are 'hard wired' into a dog...like, being a working member of a pack...following a calm and assertive leader...fighting to the death, if need be, an interloper...all things they'd do within a pack of wolves...things that have, with millions of years of domestication, been transfered to their humans...it appears to be love and undying devotion...Us humans are who like to believe it is US who creates this devotion...rather than dogs just being who they are...

...yes. Considering a dog is of the same intelligence as a 4 year old child, I would say that that is very possible.

Dogs will love anyone who is nice to them, and takes care of them. Most dogs will even love their abusive, irrisponsible owners anyways.

A dogs love...or any animal for that matter is the purest, most unconditional love you will ever find.
