Dear Mother,

Of course when you’re pregnant, all kinds of strange things can happen to your body and strange becomes normal when you’re pregnant. But I’m very concerned that we are taking yeast infections too lightly.

Discharge is one thing, vaginitis is another story. Its called an infection for a reason. Infections may be common, but not normal. Don’t let the “feminine care product” commercials fool you into thinking chronic “need” for their products is normal.

Ladies, please pay attention to yourselves and take care! That’s the cradle of life down there!

Watch your nutrition. Yeast (candida, and similar bad bacteria/fungi) thrive in warm, moist, sugary environments. If your PH is all sugary, you’re helping the “yeast” multiply. That’s why yogurt is promoted for this and other fungal infections - because the good bacteria kills the bad and yogurt has the exact PH we need to have. Your vagina should have the same PH balance as yogurt.

There are effective natural remedies you can try. Too much to say about what to eat and what not to eat. Yogurt (plain only!) can be applied topically and will help discomfort. Also a garlic clove (in cheese-cloth or something) suppository will help annihilate the invaders. I kid you not.

I think its best to stay away from drugs while pregnant, if at all possible. Nature loves you!

Congratulations and best of luck to you and your tiny one.

yeast infections are extremely common in a pregnant woman! when I was pregnant I had 2..I was so embarrased..I couldnt beleive it I felt dirty and omg humiliated…my doctor told me it was very common because the amount of discharge and moist that was in there at the time of pregnancy! remember a pregnant woman can sweat and have all these hot flashes and its also tight clothing…all of the above! they tell you to buy monistat 7 and blah but you have to know how to use it…ask your doctor to inject it himself and it goes away for good…dont think of it as poor hygiene because its not lol even tho sometimes it may be for that reason lol
