Can you write papers, like on Microsoft, on the iPad?

i’m going to college in the fall, and i’m now starting to look into whether i should buy a laptop or an ipad. i would really like to buy an ipad not just to play games while i’m bored but i’ll need to write papers on it as well. and i want something thats small like the ipad, so its easier to transport. any advice?

Get Pages. And take notes on Evernote.

Yes like “Kahili” said, if you get an iPad, you can buy & download the app “pages” ($10) which is very similar to Microsoft Office and you can transfer your files and documents through email. Of course since an iPad is touchscreen if will be very difficult and different typing essays so I suggest getting the keyboard for the iPad that is sold separately. In my opinion though, I think a laptop would be more useful for school. But you can’t really go wrong with either.

In my opinion, get a laptop. There are many things u have to do for college assignments and really, a laptop would help u. U would have to make PowerPoint presentations, etc and I think it would be hard using an iPad. Get a laptop for college and if u want to, u can always get the iPad later:)
