Why won't I ever have a period?

Why won’t I ever have a period?I was lucky to actually have a period this last june this year (‘08) and I am 18 now and I never really had a period since then and its been a year before that is there anything wrong with me? Can I still have kids even though I cant have a period? I really want a child but it wont happen, what could be wrong with me?

If you’re on birth control that could stop you from having periods every month. You should see your doctor and ask him this question. I’m not sure if still getting pregnant would work but, again see your doctor.

I think you are lucky because im ten years old and I had my period when I was 8 and its anoying.

You need to go to the doctor for an exam and evaluation. Something is out of whack, and only a visit will tell you if it is benign or what. Many things can affect your period. Please go and see your doctor. Good Luck!!

Nothing wrong with this. My best friend has the exact same problem. Her first 3 were fine, but after that she was lucky if she even got one at all.

Birth control, mainly the pill, will help this. It not only acts a birth controlling device, it works as a period regulator, also.

Having an irregular period can cause complications in terms of having children, though. you can’t have a kid if there’s nothing there to fertilize. You may end up having to use fertility drugs or get invetro fertilization done. Invetro’s you’re best bet, however, if you want to start with 1. Fertility drugs have a tendency to toss a lot of eggs out at the same time. I have an idea you don’t want 3-8 kids at the same time. One can be a handful, but 6 or 7?

Anything else, let me know. Good luck!
