why is my scalp sore?

my scalp is sore and I don’t know why. I dont comb it hard or put anything on it to cause it to get that y. I do scratch the mess out of it because it itches a lot. I moisturize my hair everyday so I dont know why it itches and why its sore. anybody have any suggestions?

building on what buttercreamicing said, if you use head and shoulders, you might want to just get your hair and scalp wet, lather it in, and wait a while (long enough that it would be worth getting out of the shower with the shampoo on). Sit on the toilet and read a magazine for about half an hour, and then get back in and finish. Doing it this way makes the shampoo work to its full potential. You could have eczema too on your scalp.

Have you tried a dandruff shampoo such as head and shoulders? Also you may be allergic to the brand of shampoo or conditioner that you use, try a different brand.
