why is my PS3 asking for the 1.02 and 1.04 updates?

well I’ve had my PS3 for not even a month, and it needed a systems update, so I did that and now I’m online, but I got 2 new games for xmas (far cry 2 and need for speed shift) and when I put in far cry 2 it says it needs to update 1.02 (which I think is a worms thing) and for need for speed I need to update 1.04, but I don’t know why b’cus my friends who have PS3s say they never had to do that kind of thing with their PS3s. Why is my PS3 saying I need these 2 updates and where on the internet can I get the downloads to put on a pen drive to then put on my PS3?? (I can’t directly get them from the PS3 where it says) cheers guys!

Just do the updates. It needs to add certain things to make the games online capability work.

I use gamershell.com but im not sure if they host console game patches :S

ubi.com for far cry 2 patches and ea.com for need for speed patch

ther are no 1.02 or 1.04 patches for far cry 2 on ubi.com
