Why is he testing my limits?

Well I just turned 16 and I’ve been “talking” to my neighbor for a month now and he’s 18ish…so I guess he was just waiting I don’t know…but any ways he went on vacation last tuesday and we were texting <3 all day as usual…but then it ended at about 10 with me saying “lol” and then 2hrs later he said “goodnight” but it didntt pop up in my notifications bar so I didn’t know he said anything until twelve hours later…so im thinkin that it would be stupid to reply so I didn’t say anything. And neither has he cause today is saturday and I’m wondering what is going on…but I don’t date him so I don’t wanna ask him and seem all clingyy (ugh) . But then I was reading a magizine and it said that when a guy is distant all of sudden , he is just testing your limits …I really like this guy I don’t ruin anything so please help!
