Why does my Jaw keep clicking?

Temporomandibular Jaw/joint Disorder I have it. I have had it for a few years as I grind my teeth in my sleep so I have to wear a mouth guard in bed. (annoying) I have it bad though I have woken up before tried to yawn and I couldnt my jaw was stuck I couldnt move it. scary! It sounds like symptoms of TMJ (temporomandibular joint disorder). It’s caused by a misshapen or displaced disc in your jaw which in turn causes pressure and stretching to your nerves. The popping is the sound of the disc going back into place. The muscles can spasm, causing pain.

It can be caused from chewing gum too much, grinding your teeth, over/under bites, trauma, and stress. If it’s causing you problems while you sleep you should try getting a mouth guard. You could also talk to your dentist about it, but most dentist’s won’t try to treat it unless there’s serious constant pain associated with it.

I was about to suggest you could be grinding your teeth, especially in your sleep, but nero covered it all. Best go see your dentist.
