Why does my 8month old son keep taking his diaper off?

While my son is sleeping he will take his diaper off. He has also done it a few times after he poops. When his diaper is really wet he won’t poop in it he wait until he gets changed and then poops.

Answer #1

Maybe it’s because it will give him a rash. Or he doesn’t like havening a dirty diaper. My neice does the same thing…

Answer #2

A lot of kids his age go through a stage of pulling their diaper off. That isn’t uncommon. Try making him sleep in a onesie so he can’t get to it to pull it off.

Answer #3

because when it is wet it sticks to you

Answer #4

yes and sometimes it itches like crazy put lots of baby oil and his skin and put baby power on his diaper :)

Answer #5

A disposable diaper does not breathe and gets extremely hot, especially when a baby urinates in it. This can be part of the reason why your son is taking his diaper off. Also, my son did the same thing when he wore disposables for the first 6 months of his life as far as pooping in it. Just make sure that the diaper is always clean and dry, dont let the diaper puff up with urine because that can be extremely uncomfortable to your son. He probably does not poop in a wet diaper because he wants to get a comfortable dry diaper on first before doing so.
