Why do I have red spots at the back of my throat?

Recently I’ve had cold/flu-like symptoms. My bones have been aching (particularly my ankle bone for some bizarre reason) and I’ve had a sore throat and coughing up green mucus. Over the past 48 hours the pain in my throat has worsened and my right tonsil hurts so bad! I’ve noticed I have red spots on my throat too and all my veins seem to be more visible than usual. My tonsils look fine, they have no white spots on them, but they hurt SO much! Especially when I yawn, swallow or even move my tongue. :( Could this be tonsillitis?

Answer #1

My guess would be either strep throat or flu. See if you can go to the doctor for a throat culture.

Answer #2

I would go to your doctor to be sure… you never know.
