Why do dogs sniff each others behinds?

Why do dogs sniff each others behinds?

Answer #1

They’re not actually sniffing each other’s behinds. They’re sniffing a gland below the anus which gives off a dog’s information, such as sex, age, etc.

Answer #2

Dogs have the best sense of smell and i think that behaviour is just their involuntarily action
