Why do all politicians say such dumb things?

This is so strange of a quote from this guy: “I never intended my career in public service to end this way, and I am ashamed that it has.” Why do all politicians say such dumb things? The article was talking about some politician that was convicted of failing to report cash & gifts (aka bribes) on his taxes, and is now going to jail.

What he was trying to say is “I never intended to get caught…”, but couldn’t bring himself to tell the truth, even at the bitter end. Why do politicians do this? ARGH, it’s so frustrating sometimes.

The true answer is….they’re human and humans make mistakes..an example: the pilot of the plane in Lexington that took off from the wrong runway….no doubt had performed thousands of takeoffs before….but this time he lined up on a runway 24 and he was assigned runway 22….once lined up on the centerline of the runway, a glance at the compass right in front of him read a heading of ‘240’….he didn’t notice this error….should have read ‘220 - the proper runway….humans make mistakes, we’re not perfect, even tragic ones

Even I made a mistake (I know that’s hard to beleive) the other day and pulled out in front of a truck….thought I had checked good enough….but hadn’t….fortunately all was ok :-)

The smart people don’t want to be politicians because it is a corrupt lifestyle. To make it up the ladder you have to give and take kickbacks. Their minds get so addled trying to remember what they said to who, and who owes them what that they can’t think. Then someone asks for an honest answer and what comes out makes no sense because there is no honesty brain cell left in their shrivelled little noggins. We really should receive those stupid answers with pity, and not disdain.
