True talent. When a voice comes over xm and it is so damn good b/c it doesn’t sound like everything else that plays. I remember I felt that way the very first time I heard Alicia Keys debut album “Songs in A Minor.” I really thought it was her but now I think it was her style plus she has a smoky voice. It was just so different than anything else being played. I know it is older but that is what came to mind first. You have to do something that will catch peoples attention and don’t try to sound like Brittney Spears, Amy Lee, Taylor Swift…sound like you. Oh, another song that has recently caught me was “If I were a Boy” by Beyonce. Yah, she can sing but I do not generally buy her albums. That song was different though, really showed her vocal range off and it wasn’t all hyped up with music and beat so you could really hear the talent show through. I am as American as you can get and this is my opinion…still, it may not be shared by the next American. We in general just like music that makes you “feel” more than anything.
