what kind of present for a friend I'm close/kinda close to?

I have a few very close friends, 2 of them are lads so its as easy as pie to get them presents, but the other 2 are girls, ones very easy to buy for, but the other I have some ups and downs with because we don’t always see eye to eye.. I would just like some ideas on what I could get her for her birthday at the end of may, she’ll be 16. same as me. girls who are around that age, what kind of things are nice to get for birthdays? what kind of useful things that don’t send a strong message.. stuff like that, and lads what have you gotten girls that age that they’ve liked? nothing lovey dovey… just sumthing that she’ll find nice, or useful… and about £13/£14 or less. but over £10. so for people in teh US about $10/$13 cheers guys! =)

you can get a cute photo album and fill it w/ pictures of you guys. or you can surprise her by throwing a party or taking her out.. another idea is to make her a cd of her favorite songs or songs that you mite have an inside joke about? funny presents are always a good idea (for example me and my friend used to be obnoxious and throw grass at eachother at soccer practice, and for my present she put grass in a plastic bag and then gave it to me lol and then she also just gave me a cute necklace). stuff like thatt..hope I helped!
