What gcse's and A levels do you need to be a Accountant ?

I want to be an accountant and I think I know what to take for GCSE but im not so sure about A level,also any tips would be helpfull and do you have to go to university and for how long?

What type of accountant do you want to be? I am studying towards a chartered accountant and in total it is 7 years and you need good marks, however I believe that it works differently where you are from. Best thing would be to phone your local university or visit their website and to ask them.
