What are the effects of being pregnant at 17?

Let me get this straight. Your 17 year old friend wants to have a baby with a guy she isn’t even dating? How is this a good idea?! Regardless of the possibility of physical risks during the pregnancy, there will be countless repercussions from this decision. This is one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard…

If the guy is 18 or older he can go to jail. At that age your body isn’t all the way developed so that does pose a higher risk of birth defects and injury/death during childbirth. However, people that age have children everyday that are perfectly healthy. So, she may or may not experience difficulties.

To be honest there is no risk. But the only risk is her being so young and not really knowing what they are doing. They really need to wait a few years. I know at age of 17 you feel like an adult, but your really not.. After collage she may feel she wants to do more with her life and she just wont be able to because of the commitment.. There wasting there whole life.. so talk to her and see if they can wait.

A baby isn’t going to make him stay. How are they going to support this child? The main effects are on the child…which is sad.
