Does a warm, dry nose mean my pup is sick?

I just got a 3 month old, female toy poodle. Where she was staying before had 2 dogs & 2 kids (meaning a lot of activity). Here there is just me, mom & dad. Today she has been istless and her nose is dry and very warm. Is this a sign of sickness or is she suffering from seperation anxiety?

Answer #1

yes it does you want your dog to have a wet and cold nose

Answer #2

My friend has a dog, and she says if the dog’s nose is cold it ain’t sick, so I guess it is or it might not be feeling well. I don’t think it’s a reason to take it to the vet though.

I have a Veterinary Technician, and here is what I have to say:

I would not worry, a pets nose changes throught the day. I would suggest he is just going through changes. However, a prolonged dry, cracked nose, particularly with loss of pigmentation, scabs or open sores should definitely be examined by your veterinarian. An ill animal will often have a warm, dry nose, and there are a host of dermatological (skin) problems that can be seen in this area, such as Pemphigus Foliaceus.
