When it comes to war, who has more power - The commander-in-chief or congress?

Answer #1

Really in the end, it’s the guy who’s holding the gun. And the Commander in Chief has he ultimate control of the land.

Answer #2

Ah yes but in retrospect, all he has is decision making power. Congress is holding the funding and all they have to do is say they’re not gonna fund the Pres. war campaign and that’s it.

Answer #3

You’re right, the Greenback seems to have the control then…

Answer #4

I dunno who has more control here, The President does the deciding but Congress holds the funding. But the thing is, these powers that they have almost have no check and balance when it comes to the scheme of the Executive branch and the Legislative Branch… But then again, that’s why I asked this question!

Answer #5

That’s A Tricky One… Congress Has The Funding Obama Decides Where It Goes.. But The General Commands The Army And Is The Battles.

Answer #6

Technically, congress is the only one who can declare war, although in reality that hasn’t happened since WWII. But the President as Commander-in-chief definitely has more power over the military.
