when does a UTI usually go away, when treating it?

MY cousin has one, and she’s been living here. She’s been asking when will the pain, even the UTI itself go away. She’s treating it with the cranberry pills from CVS over by my house.

Answer #1

Cranberry pills alone is not enough, she needs to get some azo pills along withthe cranberry. With proper medication it will go away between 3 days to one week. If she has it longer than a week she needs to see a doctor.

Answer #2

Agreed with Mandy loo. If it has been going on for quite a while it is time to see a doctor for anti-biotics. Mine heals in about 3 days on anti-biotics.

Answer #3

If she has that bad of a UTI, she needs antibiotics. Tell her that this infection can go up into her kidneys…if she thinks in pain now, wait till she gets a full blown kidney infection.

Answer #4

she was here when she got it. my mom bought her the cranberry pills. she is only drinking water, wiping properly, and she says the pain is still there? 2 days so far. that’s all she’s been doing. water, 6 daily cranberry pills each day. enough?
